exhibition at L.A. Open

The prestigious L.A. Open table tennis tournament, with some 200 regional and national-level players, ran alongside a unique ‘Ping Pong Fit’ festival at the Long Beach Convention Center. A VIP delegation from China visited the event to promote cultural relations between our two countries. PongFit Pro volunteers interacted with tournament visitors and played with kids, parents, and everyone who wanted to get a rally going. “PongFit Pete” the table tennis T-Rex made an appearance too. The tournament organizers invited him to play Olympian Wei Wang at center court before the Finals. It was a crowd pleaser and set the tone for an exciting finale to several days of intense action. World Table Tennis Day – April 6

Table tennis is the ultimate inclusive sport, accessible to virtually all players regardless of age, skill level, gender, income, religion, or geography. The International Table Tennis Federation created World Table Tennis Day in 2015 to celebrate and grow this amazing sport. This year, there were 914 events in 107 countries around the planet that celebrated the day! PongFit hosted its own fest on Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, with open play for all. We had about 250 visitors engaged, from at least 11 different countries. WATCH VIDEO >>

“The Third Street Promenade had ping pong tables set up – what a pleasant surprise! I’m a 77-year-old grandmother and I had a great time playing ping pong with my son there. The people running it were very pleasant and fun. They even put on a professional demonstration for us. I love when our community puts on this type of event. We need to do these more often.”

“PONG ON THE PROMenade”

Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. wanted to increase visitor engagement at its renowned Third Street Promenade. So they approached PongFit. We set up and managed a summer series of open play on five tables every Wednesday through the prime summer season. 1,400 engaged visitors later, we look back at a fun and successful happening - which included a T-Rex playing table tennis! “We wanted to increase visitor engagement on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and PongFit provided a great solution: A summer series of open ping pong play in the evenings! PongFit guided us through the whole process of sourcing equipment, setting it up, and then managed more than 1,000 visitors smoothly and professionally. It was great fun and family-friendly.”

Smile train charity tournament

PongFit directed this charity ping pong tournament as part of a benefit event for Smile Train, which treats kids worldwide who suffer from cleft palate but can't afford surgeries. It was hosted at a video distribution conference at a beautiful hotel in West Los Angeles. Cool people and serious rallies made this a fun event - not to mention the flatscreen TV that was given away as a prize. $15K was generated for a great cause — enough to perform 60 cleft repair procedures for kids in need! “PongFit really knows what they’re doing, and they’re fun and friendly to work with. We all learned a lot about table tennis at the tournament they organized, and especially how it can involve pretty much anyone, regardless of skill. I love their cause too, and I can’t wait to get our company playing more.”
